The world does not suffer from a shortage of information. We have more forecasts, frameworks, dashboards, experts, algorithms and answers than at any point in history. Clarity is in shorter supply. Lateral Truths is my attempt to find some — not by staring harder at the obvious thing, but by looking sideways.
Because the straight line is crowded.
Everybody is watching AI, so sometimes I look at a harmonica. Everybody is talking about leadership, so sometimes I start with a joke that failed. Everybody is talking about the future of work, so sometimes I begin with a twenty-one-year-old deciding what she wants from her life.
And sometimes the subject isn’t business at all. Memory. Love. Grief. A song. A dog. A father. A daughter.
Being human is not a collection of separate verticals. Neither is this publication. The subject underneath all of it is what happens to people when the world — or a life — changes.
